I think it is important to note that professional child actors are typically trained as actors — they go to classes and they are often coached by an acting coach for their auditions/roles. They would have gone to 4 or 5 auditions and had weeks of conversation with parents, agents and managers before taking a movie role. It isn’t accepted lightly, nor is it a surprise.
